This email is a monthly reminder of the IT procedures when it comes to requesting support from our team.

 

IT Office hours are:

Please find below a set of instructions on the basic tasks for example: submit a support ticket, how to change your password and access the webmail.

- How to submit a ticket:

 

Ticket requests are used to inform us of any issues that you might be experiencing, and this would help us in our workflow and ticket scheduling.

 

If you would like to open a ticket, you can do so by sending an email to technicalsupport@sms.com.mtsoftwaresupport@sms.com.mt or by using the link found on your desktop called 'IT Support' https://support.sms.com.mt/support/home and follow the onscreen instructions.

 

- Company Wide Chat & Collaboration Tool:

 

At SMS, we make use of Microsoft Teams as a collaboration tool and to ensure that communication is real-time. It is of utmost importance that each employee ensures that Microsoft Teams is online on a daily basis. When asked to login, you just need to input your email address and email password. If you experience any issues with the software or have trouble logging in, you are kindly requested to contact the IT department immediately to assist you. 

 

- How to change a password:

 

On your keyboard press CTRL+ALT+DEL and click on 'Change a password'

Enter your current and a new password twice in the labelled fields.

 

Complexity requirements: A minimum of 7 characters, must have a letter, number and a symbol, doesn't include your name or surname.

 

Passwords are set to expire every 90 days, to avoid confusion please change it beforehand.

 

- How to access the webmail:

 

The webmail is used to access your emails from any device even out of our offices. When clicking on https://outlook.office.com/owa/ you're requested to enter an email address and a password.
